New Date! Artist Talk – Caring Out Loud: Breath, Rest, and Action
Thursday, February 26, 2026
Join us for Caring Out Loud, a heartfelt and grounding conversation with MAC artist and advocate Perri Rhoden. Together, we’ll explore the question: “We all care—what can we do about that?”
In this 1-hour virtual gathering, Perri will share her personal journey into advocacy—not from a place of expertise, but from deep care and lived experience. This is a space for artists who want to respond to the challenges around them while staying rooted in breath, rest, and community.
Perri will reflect on her own steps toward action, healing, and collective care, offering inspiration for others navigating similar paths. We’ll also explore self-care and rest as vital parts of sustainable advocacy. Participants will be invited to share resources, practices, and tips that have supported their own journeys.
Whether you’re already involved in advocacy or just beginning to ask “what can I do?”, this is a moment to listen, reflect, and connect—in care, together.
Perri Rhoden is an abstract mixed media artist and muralist from Seattle, WA, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Arts from Howard University. Her work is defined by vibrant texture, pattern, and color, often incorporating acrylic paint, fabric, gel mediums, and wood. Drawing inspiration from Black feminine energy, sensuality, nature, and music, Perri’s abstract compositions invite personal reflection and emotional connection.
Her art transforms both private and public spaces, weaving stories of liberation, resilience, and joy into the urban fabric. From intimate canvases to murals spanning entire buildings, her work can be found throughout the Pacific Northwest—from Oregon to North Seattle. She was a member of the Vivid Matter Collective, contributing to the Black Lives Matter mural at CHOP.
Through bold expression and community-centered storytelling, Perri creates work that honors identity, culture, and the organic flow of life, leaving a lasting visual and emotional impact on her surroundings.
