Celebrating 15 Years!

2019 finds the Robert B. McMillen Foundation celebrating its 15th anniversary!

To date, the Foundation has contributed over $6.7 Million dollars in support of medical research and the arts.

Fifteen years is a great moment not only to look back and celebrate where we have been, but also to reflect on the vision and values that drive our future.

Our Core Values

We believe the arts are much more than aesthetic beauty. The arts are woven into every corner of our daily lives; the very fabric of life of the human existence. We see the arts as a vehicle to change individual lives and build communities. We conduct all our work through this lens. These values are the pillars on which the Foundation’s giving is built.

Character – Integrity and Diversity are at the core of everything we do. Our goal is to build a supportive, interconnected community committed to individual and artistic integrity and inclusion. We promote and respect self-expression, a wide range of ideas, and diversity in all its forms.

Creativity – All of our work focuses on passion and excellence. We seek to support out-of-the-box thinkers, risk takers, dreamers and doers who are today’s change makers; those who use their creativity, passion, time and talent to impact society.

Connections – Collaboration is central throughout all our processes. The arts world is small. We recognize that we are just one cog in the machine that turns the wheel. We see ours as a pivotal role connecting philanthropists, artists, arts administrators, arts organizations and the community.

Community – The arts are not only an economic driver, but a universal language giving voice to individuals and communities to build bridges across social, economic, and cultural boundaries. We seek to expand artistic possibilities, outcomes and lives through creative collaboration.

In honor of our 15th anniversary, we’ve updated our website adding resources for artists, Alumni of our scholarship program, and in order to do even more in support of the arts and artists, we’ve launched the MAC Fellowship Program.

Thank you for being a part of our community.  Without you, we would simply be just a set of values that sit on a piece of paper. Our scholars, alumni, and nonprofit partners are what breathe life into the Robert B. McMillen Foundation’s mission and visions.

Together we can change our communities, our state, and our world.

Art Scholarship & Fellowship

Through our Art Scholarship & Fellowship programs we are able to directly impact the lives of individual artists; generating a ripple effect which will strengthen the economy, build vibrant communities, improve academic performance, and create a paradigm shift in the way people view artists and the arts.
